People’ s evaluations, values and standards are continually influenced by changing conditions. Today, values are not completely different from yesterday’ s, but they adjust to fit current ideas, attitudes and notions of utility and modernity.
In contemporary Japanese society as in other cultures, our values have changed in our search for a better life. We find ourselves losing our older and perhaps more peaceful values that were of importance in the past. We can observe how the modern world has altered this relationship and how this affects our lives. Modern developments have caused environmental changes; altering our needs, desires and values. Our changing relationship with nature has become the main insperation of my art.

eN arts will host a solo exhibition by Asami Yoshiga “Tenkei”, starting on September 5, 2025. Asami Yoshiga is a graduate of the Japanese Painting at the Graduate School of Art and Design, Musashino Art University. She has continued to create works with depth by layering cloths painted with beautiful landscapes using sumi (Japanese Ink) and ink. Her works transcend the technical and formal framework of traditional Japanese painting and two-dimensional painting and embodying narratives. Furthermore, the layered images not only convey spatial depth but also express a temporal flow. When viewers confront Yoshiga’s works, they are transported into the pieces, and the “landscapes” depicted there gradually transform into “scenes.” We invite you to enjoy this exhibition by projecting your own memories onto Asami Yoshiga’s works.
