When you research “fire” in literature, you find references across a broad range – in mythology, philosophy, science and religion. Some examine the origin of “fire” while others analyze how “fire” affects different objects.
Every time I discover a new piece of literature on “fire,” I am impressed with the breadth of views of fire. I believe this is due to the length of the time that humans and fire have interacted. I also believe that all that has been written about fire forms a history of the challenge that humans have in characterizing fire itself and in expressing their feelings toward it. Unfortunately, the challenge in capturing the real essence of fire is great, and men have not yet to be successful so far.
Maybe that is why we, humans, continue to be attracted to FIRE.
